Cara Gilmore
Cara Gilmore is a dual Certified Environmental Biologist with a passion for the many unique ecosystems found throughout Florida. Having grown up exploring the wetlands and woods around her childhood home in Illinois, she knew at an early age she would be working in the environmental field. In 2015 she moved to Florida to further her education, graduating from the University of South Florida with a bachelors degree in Environmental Biology. Eager to gain a more intimate knowledge of the many Florida ecosystems, Cara applied to work at St Lucie Inlet and Seabranch Preserve State Parks as an FLCC AmeriCorps Member where she worked on the removal of invasive plant species throughout the two parks.
Upon the completion of her second year as an AmeriCorps Member, she met Melissa Blanford, owner of Treasure Coast Environmental Services. Shortly after meeting, it was clear that both shared a passion and dream to protect these ecosystems and the many animals that call them home by educating the public on their importance and by assisting future and current homeowners navigate the many environmental regulations surrounding them. Shortly after their meeting, Cara became a certified Wetland Delineator and Gopher Tortoise Agent and has since been a valued member of Treasure Coast Environmental Services.
